Exclusive Album Premiere: Nice Biscuit – Digital Mountain (2018 LP)

Brisbane DIY enthusiasts and psych-rockers Nice Biscuit were one of our favourite acts at BIGSOUND last week – and now this Friday they’re releasing their debut LP Digital Mountain. But today we’re giving you your exclusive first taste of the release ahead of their album launch show in Melbourne tonight.

Their name references the most bland biscuit you would never choose, until faced with the option of a digestive biscuit or a nice biscuit at your grandmas house. Completely contradictiory, Nice Biscuit wouldn’t know how to be bland if they tried. Packed with all the essential psych pop elements and bashed with driving guitars, Digital Mountain has the hallucinatory effect that few since Tame Impala have achieved. Varying tempos and intensity, strong bass riffs and echoing harmonies, the record is dripping with a nostalgic playfulness, undoubetdly captivating in a live setting.

Here’s what the band have to say about the album:

“‘Digital Mountain’ is our debut album but, for us, it represents so much more than just a collection of songs. Our intention for this project was to take it all on ourselves and produce something we are proud of, so we all used our different skills to get it out there including mixing, design, booking the tour, making costumes etc. Special mention to Ali Richardson (engineering), Maia Cavendish (album art) and Shannon Logan of Jet Black Cat Music for getting us to where we are today.”
