Courtney Barnett takes out J Award for Australian Album of the Year!

Courtney Barnett has just taken out Australian Album of the Year at the J Awards, with the acclaimed Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit claiming yet another accolade for 2015. The album was up against releases from the likes of Tame Impala and Gang of Youths and currently has Barnett continuously touring overseas. At the moment, Barnett is in Europe with Big Scary, but has told Triple J of her win:

“It’s amazing. It’s a nice feeling for something that you’re not really sure when you write, I guess, how far it’s going to reach and who is going to find it interesting.”

This year’s J Awards also proved fruitful for Tim Rogers, Tired Lion and Life is Better Blonde, who each took away gongs.
