Calexico and The Strides take Day Two of WOMADELAIDE to new heights

Day 2 of WOMADELAIDE 2016 has once again delivered on the rump-shaking good times it promises. Calexico cooked up a ripping 90 minutes of fusion under the heat of Adelaide skies. Their brand of brass infused Soul and Blues had thousands of fans in a frenzy.

Simultaneously, Radical Son were cooling things down under the pines to the west of Botanic Park with some truly soulful Blues. What a voice. You only need a few minutes under Radical Son’s enchantment and you’re hooked.

Later, local heroes Wasted Wanderers took to the Zoo stage with a solid Blues Rock sound. With masterful riffs and licks the Wanderers took a largely lifeless and uninterested crowd and turned them into a makeshift mosh-pit. Watch this space, this lot have talent.

As the sun’s power began to wane, The Strides took to Stage 2 and delivered relentlessly perfect Reggae that was absolutely impossible not to shake your ass to. Soon after, Ester Rada introduced us to how they do Soul Diva in the Middle East.

If this keeps up, half of South Australia will need the day off on Tuesday.
