Bonnaroo closes its 16th year with massive sets from the likes of Moon Taxi, Dua Lipa and The Killers

While the final day of this year’s Bonnaroo festival began with sheets of rain and threats of lighting, the only bolts of electricity that came down on “The Farm” on Sunday came courtesy of the closing set from The Killers.

The rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada braved the storms and high humidity along with other amazing acts ranging from Future, Alt-J and even a showcase from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry to close out the festival on the perfect note.

The Killers

In the greatest sing along of the entire festival, Brandon Flowers ran out on stage and thrust the crowd into a frenzy by beginning the set with “Mr. Brightside.” It was probably the most energy packed, loudest moment of the festival as it seemed everyone in the festival was jumping up and down and singing along.

Pegged as the final night headliner, The Farm was all theirs as every other stage had closed and all that was left standing was The Killers. With an hour and a half set that included hits from every single album of their 15 plus year career, there was moment after moment of incredible lights, lasers and pure joy and adulation ringing from the stage thanks to lead singer Flowers incredible stage presence.

Flowers is one of the best leading men of any band playing today, and with their rich, diverse playlist it was an absolutely incredible choice to end the festival with a bang.

Moon Taxi

This Nashville band grew up attending the festival as fans, and that was so clear as you could tell their energy and excitement at playing one of the festivals biggest stages.

Lead singer Trevor Terndrup has maybe the greatest smile of any of the performers and the happiness that drips from the stage brings a pure happiness to the show. Closing with “Morocco” and “Two High” as the sun set for the final time of the 2018 Bonnaroo was one of the best moments of the weekend.

Future

As the biggest current day hip-hop act on the bill, Future had a giant stage and a lot of expectations. Following just a day after hip-hop legend in Eminem, Future played for one of the biggest, and youngest crowds of the fest. He did not disappoint the tens of thousands in attendance, ripping through his many hits like “Jumpman”, “New Level” and “Mask Off.”

Dua Lipa

At the hottest point of the day, Dua Lipa took the stage and provided one of the hottest shows of the festival. A year after playing on one of the small stages, the London singer was back playing the biggest stage at Bonnaroo, a great metaphor of how big she has gotten over the past year. While playing “New Rules”, the screams of the girls in attendance could be heard all over the farm. The rise of this new singer was definitely evident Sunday afternoon and it was a great moment for her.
