We spoke to Jesse and Phil from solid rock band Grenadiers on their time at BIGSOUND, touring and future album plans. After opening BIGSOUND with a massive set, the two reveal their favourite acts from the festival and more…
Simultaneously staying and performing at The New Globe Theatre was a fantastic chance for the band to catch their friends rocking the venue, Jesse says;”it was pretty convenient, those four bands Super Best Friends, Born Lion, High Tension and Cosmic Psychos,if they were spaced out over the venues, they’re probably the venues I would’ve gone to look at, conveniently their all there in the palm of my hand”.
The band are right in the middle of a tour whilst being at the end of the album cycle as Jesse explains,”We’ve done Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. It’s the first real headline tour we’ve done since the album came out”. With more shows booked for the rest of the year, the boys are eager to take a break for more new material to be created; “We’re working on new tracks this year already, perhaps get a couple more in the bag before the years out” says Phil. If the past years success is anything to go by, the goal of producing another full length in a years time might be in our sights.
