Ben & Harry of SAFIA on debut album Internal and latest single, “Over You”!

Last Thursday, Ben Woolner-Kirkham and Harry Sayers, aka two-thirds of certified Aussie electro legends SAFIA joined us for a chat in Sydney ahead of the release of their long-awaited debut album Internal and their huge national tour.

Releasing the music video for their latest single, “Over You”, the day of our morning chat, the boys tell us about their shiny new baby of a clip.

“It’s our first overseas [clip], done by an international crew,” Ben mentions. “So it was a bit different for us, this time. We’re usually a bit closer to the video. The concept’s the ‘haunting ex’…in a creepy, quirky way, haunting this guy and he’s going a bit insane. It follows that progression and then always, as we like to do, finish with a bit of a creepy overtone/ending.”

“It’s probably one of the more rawer songs on the album,” Harry adds. “A lot of it’s heavily recorded in the studio; a lot of guitar, some weird vocal chants that we chucked in there that you might be able to just hear.”
