Bat For Lashes shares haunting new single “In God’s House”

Natasha Khan, who more commonly goes by Bat For Lashes, has shared her new single “In God’s House”, following the release of single “I Do” which debuted only a few weeks ago. Both releases will appear of Khan’s forthcoming album The Bride which is scheduled for a July release.

The Bride is said to follow the narrative of a woman whose fiance was killed in a crash on the way to their wedding, after which she flees to take a honeymoon trip alone, meditating on love, loss, grief, and celebration. The rather dark concept for the album was written as a soundtrack for a feature length film which Khan had in mind when recording this new project, her first in four years following 2012’s acclaimed The Haunted Man.

“In God’s House” further highlights the narrative Khan had in mind, presenting a rather dark, brooding sound with haunting lyrics floated over the heavy beat by Khan’s strong, stunning voice. Listen to the new single below.
