Australia was the focus country at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival and along with it came a slew of big name and emerging acts from around the country – most heading to play Germany and the event for the first time. Among them were Melbohrne’s Mid City, who joined us backstage at The Aussie BBQ, held at the iconic venue Molotow.
During the chat, fresh from BIGSOUND the boys talk to Larry Heath about their first time touring in Europe, and how incredible Reeperbahn has been, “We’re polite Australians who were a little shocked… this place is buzzy as!”.
We also find out what it was like playing with a coffee in hand instead of a beer when they hit the stage around lunchtime at the BBQ.
And this is all happening as they release their new single and video for “Fake Friends Forever”, just months after their EP Die Waiting hit the ears of millions of listeners around the world.
