Your favourite boyband is coming home, Australia. 5 Seconds of Summer are truly thriving at the moment, having just announced their upcoming record EVERYONE’S A STAR and released three incredible singles, and they’ve now announced a massive world tour in perhaps one of the most iconic ways possible.
5SOS dropped their second single, “Boyband”, a few weeks back and have been teasing the music video ever since. When it dropped, fans quickly realised they’d been duped- with the video cutting out a few seconds in and being interrupted by a ‘breaking news’ segment in which the band announced their tour.
Whilst we may not have gotten the “Boyband” video (yet), a world tour announcement is just as, if not more, welcome. 5SOS will return to Aussie soil late next year, hitting Brisbane on Oct 28, followed by Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
With each of the four members now having released solo projects in the last few years, 5SOS are open to exploring new sonic territory within the band- and that’s exactly what this record is sounding like. It’s weird, experimental, and incredibly fun with themes of fame and parasocial relationships.
5SOS just recently touched back down in Aus where they held a fan event disguised a press conference for Melbourne fans, and will be inducted into the Australian Walk Of Fame later in the week in Sydney.
The promo for this era has been nothing short of fun and silly, and the music so far has been their best yet. Excitement is certainly building for this highly-anticipated tour, and tickets will be hard to get your hands on.
Mastercard and Vodafone presales begin TOMORROW (October 29) from 10:00am, while the Live Nation presale will take place on Oct 30th at 10:00am. This will be followed by the general public sale on October 31st at 10:00am. To make sure you’re signed up to presales, click HERE.
