You have got to see this Uncharted fan film starring Nathan Fillion

Fans of Uncharted, Naughty Dog’s long-running series of Indiana Jones-esque action adventure games, have been demanding a feature film adaptation for many years. For a large number of those fans, the hope was always that Firefly and Castle actor Nathan Fillion would play the game’s hero, Nathan Drake, when the time came. A slickly produced fan film, released online today, may be the closest we ever get to that beautiful dream.

The fan film was written by Allan Ungar and Jesse Wheeler, and directed by Ungar. It’s produced with an eye for detail, from Drake’s pithy retorts to the overly expository villain dialogue common in the games from which it takes its inspiration. They even provide an in-camera version of a short Uncharted action sequence that looks and feels every bit like a moment from the games.

Beyond the rather substantial get that Fillion represents as a performer, Ungar and Wheeler have also managed to bring in Stephen Lang (Avatar, Tombstone) as Drake’s mentor Victor Sullivan and Mircea Monroe (Episodes, Hart of Dixie) as Elena. There’s even a cameo by martial artist and stuntman Ernie Reyes Jr, who 90’s kids will likely remember as Keno from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze.
