A release date for the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V has been revealed. Rockstar Games confirmed this morning that this version will now be released on 15 March 2022. While this date seems as though it’s right around the corner, the game had experienced a minimal delay, from 11 November 2021.
“With the GTAV community stronger than ever, Grand Theft Auto v and Grand Theft Auto Online will come to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms this coming March 15, bringing the blockbuster open-world experience to players on the latest hardware,” Rockstar said. “We sincerely appreciate the entire community’s support over the years as the game now heads into an unprecedented third console generation.”
The new version will feature both the single-player campaign, along with the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto Online. The next-gen version will also provide a 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, draw distance upgrades, and various HDR adjustments. While both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners will able to experience fast loading times and 3D audio, PlayStation 5 owners can take advantage of the Dual Sense controller’s haptic feedback capabilities.
With Grand Theft Auto V stretching across an unprecedented three console generations, we hate to admit that it remains one of the best games of the past decade, and one we will surely welcome with open arms.
