New Far Cry 5 teaser puts game setting in Hope County, Montana

Ubisoft have released a short teaser trailer for the upcoming Far Cry 5 via their social media accounts this morning. The video, which plays like a tourism ad for smalltown USA is overlaid with tolling bells and anguished cries.

Beyond the likely setting of Hope County, Montana in the USA, little is still known about Far Cry 5 though that is set to change. Ubisoft’s teaser promises a full reveal on May 26.

The American setting is an interesting one, one that could see the series packing a layer of astute political commentary it hasn’t really possessed before. Time will tell on whether Ubi can capitalise on their setting, but for our money it’s one of the most interesting decisions the series has made in years.
