Blizzard have begun rolling out a fresh patch for the Windows version of their team-shooter Overwatch that will see tweaks to the game’s newest hero, Ana, to make her more versatile and space cowboy McCree to weaken his effectiveness at longer range.
Ana players will now notice her rifle fires 20 percent faster than it did before and can now store 10 rounds, boosted from the eight she launched with. Blizzard’s rationale? “In addition to helping her feel better to play, these changes should also increase her healing and damage output,” reads a post on the game’s official forum.
This will be the latest in a string of nerfs for McCree, who will now see a decrease to the damage falloff range on his primary revolver fire. His alternate, the previously nerfed Fan-the-Hammer attack, is seeing a 15 percent increase in rate of fire. McCree will now also have a faster recovery time after hurling his flashbang grenade.
“McCree’s latest range increase helped him quite a bit, but it was a bit too much in the right hands,” read the patch notes. “This change weakens his long range damage somewhat, but still keeps it stronger than it has been in the recent past. The other changes combine to allow him to land more alternate fire shots on targets that he has hit with Flashbang.”
As above, this update is currently only in effect for the Windows PC version of the game. A larger update coming later on will see these changes released to PS4 and Xbox One editions.
