JBL is launching a new line of soundbars if your home theatre needs a spruce up

JBL’s BAR line of soundbars has been due for a refresh for a little while now, and they’ve known it. Good news, the new wave arrives in Australia soon. Here’s what you can expect to see and hear when they hit store shelves.

The line is made up of 4 models — BAR STUDIO, BAR 2.1, BAR 3.1, and BAR 5.1 — with each designed for particular spaces and uses. Your STUDIO and 2.1 kits are ideal for smaller spaces and areas that require sharp, condensed sound while the 3.1 and 5.1 models are for larger spaces and living areas that demand a wider sound stage.

All four models have been built, according to JBL, to be as simple to set up and to use as possible, meaning connecting to your TV, blu ray player or video game console and getting the most out of their sound will be a breeze. According to JBL, it’ll even bind itself to your TV remote meaning you don’t need to have multiple controls lying around. You can also use a piece of tech called JBL Soundshift to rapidly jump from source to source if you’re big on the whole second-screen method of TV viewing.

Local pricing is as follows:

BAR STUDIO
$259.95 AUD

BAR 2.1
$499 AUD

BAR 3.1
$699 AUD

BAR 5.1
$999 AUD

The new BAR range will be available at JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman from today. You can also order via the official website.
