Fortnite‘s Lazarbeam skin puts the humble Aussie tradie in the spotlight

Fornite Lazarbeam

Fortnite adds cool new skins every other day, but the Lazarbeam skin is especially cool. The newest in the Icon Series line features Australian YouTuber Lannan “Lazarbeam” Eacott in quintessential tradie garb.

When real-world Fortnite players like fellow Aussies Loserfruit and Lachlan have their likenesses recreated in-game, they opt for a fashionable look. Cool clothes, perfect hair, the whole bit. Lazarbeam, however, chose to throw it back to his days on the worksite before he ever became a content creator.

The skin recreates Lazarbeam’s likeness in the Fornite style but dresses the YouTuber in tradie gear. It’s all here — high vis shirt, dirty stubbies, steel-capped boots, a tool belt and a sledgehammer. Variant skins add even more tradie paraphernalia — servo speed dealers, stained grey singlets, and wide brim wicker hats. The pièce de résistance however is the Lunch Break emote, which allows our working-class hero to take a seat on an esky and smash down a meat pie.

Representation is important, friends.

It will be available in the Lazar & Fresh’s Super Knockback tournament which kicks off today, March 3, 2021. If you’re good enough to rack up some wins, you might be able to claim the skin early. Don’t worry if you don’t make it all the way to the top — the Lazarbeam Bundle will drop in the Fortnite store on Friday, March 5 at 11:00 AM AEDT.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store.
