E3 2015: Tangled to feature in Kingdom Hearts 3, as the first gameplay trailer launches

No-one was expecting to see gameplay from Kingdom Hearts 3 during the Square Enix E3 presentation this morning, but that’s exactly what we were given. 2 minutes and forty five seconds of glorious gameplay.

As in the past games from the series, Kingdom Hearts 3 will feature characters from across the worlds of Disney, with the game looking to include areas that made their debut in the PSP game Birth By Sleep, such as Neverland. Makers of the game have also promised to use the end of the trilogy to not only wrap up the loose ends created by the first two official games in the series, but Birth By Sleep as well, which is routinely referred to as Kingdom Hearts Zero. Indeed, the cinematic included in this video seems to incorporate characters we first meet in the PSP game.

Though much looks familiar, the 2010 animated feature film Tangled is set to feature for the first time, with the trailer showing Sora, Donald and Goofy mounting a daring daylight raid on the area surrounding Rapunzel’s tower.

The detail in the locations has been greatly improved by the Playstation 4’s graphics, which is no surprise, though the feel of the game seems untouched. There are some new combo attacks on display, and it seems you’re able to summon vehicles to use in your attacks – from teacups to carriages.

No release date, sadly, has been set. Our unblinking wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 continues.
