Following an Amazon listing that inadvertently confirmed its existence yesterday, Darksiders III has been officially announced by Gunfire Games with a debut trailer.

The trailer, which was to be part of an exclusive announcement piece by IGN (our sympathies to our friends at IGN on having that one taken away from you, a rough 24-hours to be sure), gives a first glimpse of the game that will set series favourite Fury against the living embodiment of the Seven Deadly Sins. No release date is given, only a release window of sometime in 2018. This tallies with the placeholder date on yesterday’s Amazon listing.
Gunfire Games (previously Vigil Games prior to its closure due to THQ’s 2013 implosion) is made up of many of the same developers that worked on the original Darksiders and its sequel Darksiders II.
