Yarra Valley Writers Festival returns with a blended online and in-person program

The Yarra Valley Writers Festival will once again welcome readers, thinkers, and wine-lovers to Warburton, Victoria in mid-July. Boasting a fantastic line-up, including Kate Holden, Helen Garner, Tony Birch, Kate Mildenhall, Nardi Simpson, Stuart Coupe, Rick Morton, Jessie Tu, Louise Milligan, and more, the festival’s program will be accessible both in-person and online.

Rather than open up individual events for distance attendees, YVWF have instead opted to give online viewers a full festival-going experience. A curated virtual program is available for each day of the festival (a full weekend option is also there), with a selection of speakers, music, and walks pieced together for a complete 9-5 experience, accessible for up to a week after the event.

Festival director Brook Powell said:

“This year’s program will champion resilience. Conversation by conversation we will dissect what society thinks it is, what we believe it to be and how it shows up in both daily life and global acts.

‘The program explores how true resilience can often sit in the small repeated acts of survival, as well as the enormously impressive ‘against-all-odds’ stories. The authors will discuss cultural, personal, financial, creative, environmental and community resilience and together we will leave feeling inspired, humbled, joyful – and maybe even ever-so-slightly changed,”

The Yarra Valley Writers Festival takes place over the weekend of the 16th – 18th July. For tickets and more information, check out the festival website HERE.
