With the full program of national and international speakers for this year’s Global Cities After Dark Sydney now released, the 2021 event is looking to be a week of insightful discussion and presentations from notable government and industry insiders.
From Monday 22 March – Thursday 25 March, Sydney’s night-time economy sector will run the focused event, that will explore constructive ways to future-proof Sydney’s 24-hour economy.
In its fifth year, the 2021 forum is sponsored by the NSW Government, City of Sydney and Powerhouse Museum. Each day of Global Cities Afterdark Sydney will focus on a different sector of the night-time economy:
- Hospitality (Monday 22 March)
- Live Music and Entertainment (Tuesday 23 March)
- Major Events and Tourism (Wednesday 24 March)
- Transport and Health and Safety (Thursday 25 March)
International speakers gracing the stage include Deputy Chair of UK Music Diversity Task Force, Paulette Long OBE, Founder of Meow Wolf, Vince Kadlubek (Santa Fe, USA) and CEO & Managing Director of Impresario Entertainment, Riyaaz Amlani (Mumbai, India).
From home, audiences will hear from Michael Rodrigues, the inaugural 24hr Economy Commissioner for NSW, Emily Collins, Managing Director of MusicNSW, Tory Loudon, Ideas Curator for Vivid Sydney and more.
And it won’t all be saving the world (or more accurately, our nights out).
On the closing Friday, attendees will enjoy the “Celebrate Local” event, a night of music and culinary delights including a two-course dinner with paired wines, and performances from Barkaa, Kyva and Sarah Houbolt.
