First names announced for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s 30th Birthday Bash

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and it’s been announced that the hosts for the evening will be Cal Wilson and Tommy Little.

Many legendary comedians have also been revealed for the lineup, which is set to include Eddie Perfect, Rich Hall, Greg Fleet, Wendy Harmer, The Umbilical Brothers, Luke McGregor, Gerry Connolly, Nina Conti, Simon Munnery, Rachel Berger and Rod Quantock. Many more will be announced.

From its humble beginnings in 1987, the festival is now considered one of the biggest national comedy festivals, with thousands of comedians coming from all over the country. The festival brings some old time favourite comedians with the new and upcoming generation of comedians.

The 30th Birthday Bash will be held at the Regent Theatre, 191 Collins St on the 1st of April at 7:30pm. Premium tickets are $85, A reserve are $60 and B reserve are $45. Tickets are on sale through the official website at http://comedyfestival.com.au/.  And if you can’t attend the event in person, the show will be recorded by Foxtel and broadcasted on the Comedy Channel later this year.
