Broadway icon Megan Hilty makes one-off Australia debut June 8 at Arts Centre Melbourne

The exclusive one-night-only event at the Art Centre Melbourne’s Hamer Hall will showcase Megan Hilty with her four-piece band including musical director and pianist Matt Cusson and husband Brian Gallagher on guitar. Those lucky enough to score a ticket can except to sing along to hit songs, They Just Keep Moving the Line (SMASH!), Almost like Being in Love/This Can’t Be Love, The Man That Got Away, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, Heart of the Matter, Autumn Leaves/When October Goes, Someone to Watch Over Me, Get Happy and The Rainbow Connection.

Megan has had an outstanding musical career on Broadway and television, starring as Lorelei Lee, the diamond-loving blonde made famous by Carol Channing in Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blonds, Doralee Rhodes (dolly Partons role) in Broadways 9 to 4: The Musical. She is well known for her Broadway debut as Glinda in Wicked and her role in the musical drama SMASH as Ivy Lynn. Most recently, Hilty just completed a season on Broadway starring in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of hit comedy Noises Off.

In 2013, Megan released her debut solo album It Happens All the Time. The album features works by contemporary songwriters and producers that are reinterpreted into new compositions.
