World-dominating rockers Foo Fighters have announced a special intimate Melbourne show at Crown LIVE this November, giving just 1,250 fans the rare chance to see one of the world’s biggest rock bands in a venue significantly smaller than the stadiums they usually command.
The Foo Fighters Crown LIVE show will take place on Monday 16th, wrapping up the Melbourne leg of the band’s Take Cover Australian Tour with a one-night-only performance.
For a band of this scale, the size of the room makes this one of the more interesting additions to Melbourne’s live music calendar this year. The Fooeys have spent decades headlining stadiums and major festivals around the world, so watching Dave Grohl and company tear through their catalogue with only 1,250 people in the room should offer a completely different kind of energy.
“There’s something electric about stripping it all back and getting closer to the fans,” said Grohl. “We play some of the biggest venues in the world, so the chance to play a club show and share that energy packed into smaller spaces with sweat dripping off the ceiling and walls is something that always excites us.”
Getting into the room won’t be easy, but it’ll be worth the effort.
Registrations for Foo Fighters tickets at Crown LIVE close this Sunday 12th October, leaving Australian fans just a few days to put their names forward.
Registration is free and open to the general public and Crown Rewards members, although registering does not guarantee a ticket. Successful entrants will be selected through an independently administered Ticketmaster demand allocation process and invited to purchase tickets. Successful applicants will be notified on Wednesday 21st October 2026.
The performance will also offer an early look at Crown LIVE, Melbourne’s new 1,250-capacity entertainment venue and part of Crown Melbourne’s $200 million transformation.
“We believe the measure of a great venue isn’t the size of the crowd it can hold, but the calibre of experience it can create for the people in the room,” said Crown Melbourne CEO Ed Domingo.
“This is exactly the kind of event Crown LIVE was designed to deliver”.
And it’s certainly an epic way to kick off what we assume has been designed to tap into the growing demand for substantial live music experiences, as opposed to just concerts. In a world where social media addiction has created this kind of existential need for live, communal events, Crown LIVE looks exceptionally well-placed to feed this kind of appetite.
The intimate venue has been built to host Vegas-style residences and Broadway musicals, with the event schedule already shaping up nicely with the likes of Russell Peters, Ashanti, Elf the Musical, and more.
