The Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival (ABBF) has been a staple event in the brewing community for a decade at the Adelaide Showgrounds. Between 2015 and 2025, it’s grown to be the largest brewing event of its kind in Australia, with more brewers under one roof than any other festival in the country. It’s survived the pandemic, won some ‘Best Festival’ prizes at the SA Music Awards and even spawned a sister festival in Mount Gambier.
It makes perfect sense that festival founders Gareth Lewis and Aaron Sandow have stepped up their game and decided to relocate the ABBF to The Drive, right next door to Adelaide Oval. This gives more punters better exposure to the most talented brewers in the country. Not to mention wine makers, gin distillers and makers of other brewed beverages.
Anyone that’s ever attended ABBF would know that the food offerings are legendary. From NSW’s Carolina Smoke to Baltic Fine Food; from Victorian Braz Oz Brazillian Bbq to the Franklin Harbour Oyster Co – there’s plenty of variety to keep the taste buds going.
And we haven’t even touched on one of the biggest draw cards – the top rate music selection. Friday night main stage hits hard with boundary-pushing provocateurs TISM, Sydney legends Ratcat, American singer-songwriter Ben Kweller (USA) of Ed Sheeran fame. Saturday night has the slam dunk art-rock force Tropical Fuck Storm, and Sydney hardcore heavyweights SPEED. Look out for Adelaide’s Young Offenders, legendary Hall of Fame inductee Tim Rogers and genre defying Kirin J Callinan in the Secret Pickle Saloon.
Try one or all three sessions across the weekend: Friday Night (18+), Saturday Day (family friendly) and Saturday Night (18+).
See you there!
