Album Review: New Found Glory- Listen Up! (2026 LP)

New Found Glory have undeniably still got it. Their twelfth record, Listen Up! arrives as the band approaches their thirtieth anniversary, and it feels like them at their very best. Shaped by experiences such as guitarist Chad Gilbert’s ongoing battle with an aggressive cancer as well as their dynamic as a band all these years later, this album sees them push themselves creatively, and it pays off entirely.

The album opens with “Boom Roasted”, a track that is New Found Glory through and through- it’s fun and energetic, with a powerful social commentary- you can see where newer bands in the scene like Neck Deep find their inspiration.

“100%” follows, a pre-released track that has been getting a lot of love. The chorus is a standout moment on the record, reminiscent of earlier works such as their hit “Catalyst”. Lead singer Jordan Pundik still somehow possesses the vocals of a twenty-something, and they really shine on this track in particular. “Laugh It Off” is about the band’s relationship through thick and thin, and their ability to find light in dark moments. Recorded during Gilbert’s recent cancer treatments, the experience of creating this album was a bittersweet one, and this track encapsulates the band’s dynamic during this time perfectly. Not only is it a super fun track that will get stuck in your head instantly, but it’s also got a real heart to it.

“A Love Song” has a slightly heavier edge to it, contrasted with its cute subject matter. It’s a little juvenile, like if a 90s high school rom-com was a song, and I totally love it for that. Next up is “Beer and Blood Stains”, a deeply nostalgic track that sees the band reflect on their early days. It’s a little cliché, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love a good cliché- it’s a heartwarming song and an ode to their hometown. The breakdown into the bridge followed by the gang vocals chanting “Florida, Florida” is a fun touch, and while it may not be as strong as other tracks, it’s got character.

“Medicine” continues that nostalgic theme, and Pundik’s vocals take this song from a simple little ditty to a really sincere one. “Treat Yourself” follows, no-doubt inspired by Gilbert’s cancer battle from his bandmates’ POV. It’s a deeply inspiring, feel-good, optimistic track despite the subject matter. Maybe a few too many “woah”s, but otherwise another solid addition to the record.

Next up is “Dream Born Again”, and this one is a little underwhelming. Pundik’s vocals are once again the standout, but otherwise it’s definitely outshined by the surrounding tracks. “You Got This” brings that momentum back up, matching the energy of “Boom Roasted” and “100%”.

The record closes with “Frankenstein’s Monster”, also inspired by Gilbert’s cancer battle, this time from his own POV. A really solid closing track, it’s equal parts devastating and inspiring.

Listen Up! is a real return to form for New Found Glory. Born in the midst of one of their most challenging times, it feels like all of their collective joy and pain of the last few years has been channelled into creating a powerful, optimistic, highly inspired record. It covers everything from socio-political outrage, to love, sickness, and nostalgia all packed into one, and their performances prove that they’re not slowing down with age. Listen Up! feels like New Found Glory at their best, despite going through the worst.
