Berlin multidisciplinary studio flora&faunavisions announce an immersive experience at Adelaide’s ILA

As part of their ongoing exploration of art and technology, ILA, Australia’s Centre for Immersive Light and Art have enlisted Berlin-based multi-disciplinary art collective flora&faunavisions to create an immersive and interactive experience. The experience, called TIMELIGHT ‘Beyond our ticking world’ allows visitors to interact with a virtual digital canvas to explore themes of time and space.

Designed for all ages, the installation invites audiences of  all ages to “step away from the urgency of daily life and into a poetic, sensory journey delving into the layered meanings of time, played out across three captivating chapters”.

Evolving from the sold out show EDEN, a part of Illuminate Adelaide’s 2024 season,  TIMELIGHT invites visitors to play with the concepts of time and space and feel what it means to them. There are over 110 square metres of high quality digital interactive screens, with three chapters to explore. Each chapter takes around 30 minutes.

Chapter one: Capturing Universal Time makes time feel as though it is bending, shifting and shaping into abstract ideas.

Chapter two is Inside the Clock: pulsating rhythms, and ticking gears which is actually a high paced game emulating the tension between our ordered and chaotic lives.

Finally, chapter three explores the idea of Time in Circle. This is an opportunity for visitors to reflect on their own quiet rhythm of nature. Through touch, visitors can experience changes in rates of growth of the outside world.

Finally, visitors can share their feelings of time and space on a giant mural, enhancing the insight into what time and space means to us as individuals and the community as a whole. Finally mingle in the cafe with cocktails specially designed by the Aurora restaurant team.

Timelight opens Friday 26th September at ILA, 63 Light Square, Adelaide

Open Wednesday – Sunday during school holidays
