Every year the Sydney Comedy Festival gets bigger and bigger, eagerly pushing on the tails of the more widely renowned Melbourne International Comedy Festival, coming up with new ways to experience comedy in the process. Last year, an event called the "Secret Show" was held, with secret acts in a secret venue. This year the successful, intimate concept has returned, with the venue this time around being the observation room of the Centrepoint Tower and the acts featuring a local host, two international guests and one Australian superstar.

Comedy Review: Mick Foley + Brendan Burns: Good God Almighty - Enmore Theatre (09.02.13)

“The Hardcore Legend” of WWF/WWE, TNA, ECW and WCW, Mick Foley brought his one man show to Sydney last Saturday evening for what was billed as a night of questions, stories and comedy. Would arguably wrestlings best promo-maker still be able to craft a memorable event so many years into retirement or would it fall flat? (3:33 and/or 9:54.. pardon the pun!)

Photo Gallery: FLiCKERFEST Launch - Icebergs, Bondi Beach (04.12.12)

It was a beautiful night down at Bondi last night with lots of fabulous film faces making it down to Icebergs to kick off the much loved festival FLiCKERFEST. The glamorous crowd were also the first to hear of an exciting development in the Australian film industry - Gillian Armstrong was thrilled to announce that FLiCKERFEST’s Best Australian Short Film Award is now officially Academy Award Accredited. A selection of photos from the event are below.

Carl Dziunka takes us to the red carpet and ceremony for the 2012 Eros Shine Awards in Melbourne. The EROS Shine Awards is a glamorous industry-recognised awards night which celebrates both the erotic arts and adult businesses. However the event provides plenty of breaks into mainstream erotic fashion, music, performance and 'body politics'. Ron Jeremy was there. Need we say more? Obviously this gallery may be NSFW.

Live Review: The Funky Scum Rumor + Trumps & Tandem Run + Gabrielle Hyde - The Jade Monkey, Adelaide (27.09.2012)

So this is it for an iconic Adelaide live music venue. The beginning of the end for a 147 year old building that is being bulldozed to make way for a $65 million hotel. A venue that came at a time when many others were shutting down, sustaining and supporting live music and who dedicated Thursday nights for helping out and showcasing new musical talent. Having never had the privilege of seeing a live act at The Jade Monkey it’s bitter-sweet to mark my first and last time on their turf for the final closing down weekend.
