Music Matters Live, which is now Asia's largest independent music festival, has opened up for applications for its 2015 event! Returning to Singapore for its fifth year, Music Matters Live will be hosting four nights of incredible live music and all artists are now encouraged to apply!

Randa named winner of the NZ On Air Critics' Choice Prize at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards!

Mainard Larkin, the 21 year old rapper who performs under the moniker of Randa, has taken out the NZ On Air Critic' Choice Prize as part of the 2014 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. Up against other finalists in Estere and Lake South, Randa performed an electric set at the King's Arms in Auckland last night to a vull venue of punters and music industry figures alike.

Early SXSW news is beginning to filter out of Austin, with the Interactive crew announcing their first keynote speaker for 2015! Paola Antonella, Senior Curator of Architecture & Design and Director of Research & Development at MoMA in New York, will be taking the reins on Friday, March 13th.

The Australian contingent of artists headed Stateside for the annual CMJ conference and live music program this year is mighty strong, with the likes of Bad//Dreems, Courtney Barnett, DMA's and Dune Rats set to fly the flag for the diverse Australian music industry. Set to join them and perform in New York this October is Adelaide singer songwriter Tom West, who will be playing the CMJ Music Marathon and the Aussie BBQ, as well as a run of his own shows to coincide with the event!

The annual CMJ Music Marathon is coming to New York City in less than two months - and that means it's time for us to get a first taste of the bands who'll be gracing the event come October 21st. The Knife to end career at the Iceland Airwaves Festival this November.

Breaking the hearts of many fans this morning, Swedish electronic duo The Knife announced that the end of their 'Shaking the Habitual Tour' would also mark the end of their career. The final show of the tour is set to take place in Iceland, ironically also being the first time siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer have played there, at the Iceland Airwaves Festival.

The 2014 installment of Lollapalooza ends in Chicago with Kings of Leon, Skrillex, The 1975, Flume and more...

The final day and night of Lollapalooza 2014 came to rainy, muddy close, with Skrillex and Kings of Leon taking charge at either end of Grant Park. The bad weather began early on in the day, though it didn't bother performers or punters at all; before long, it was all about rolling around in the mud and sheltering under umbrellas.

Outkast close out day two of Lollpalooza in Chicago, while Australia's Cut/Copy, The Temper Trap & John Butler Trio shine.

Sun beat down heavily for the second day of Lollapalooza, setting the more electro-dance heavy areas up of Grant Park perfectly. Punters raved to the mashups and originals of Z-Trip on Perry's, while Ratking delivered a great contrasting hip-hop set just up at the Grove.
