Shore Thing rings in a new decade on Bondi Beach to a sold out crowd!

As 2010 drew to an end, a sold out crowd of 15,000 music fans flocked to the iconic Bondi Beach last night to see off the 00’s at Sydney’s most popular New Years Eve outdoor musical experience Shore Thing.

There was only ever going to be one place to be on New Year’s Eve and as the clock struck midnight, fireworks lit up the world-famous beach, followed soon after by man of the moment, David Guetta, a fitting introduction for the producer extraordinaire, lately credited with breaking house music to the mainstream US of A. Lifting spirits with his epic tunes, surprise singing interlude, spectacular video installation and robotic dancers that wowed the crowd, Guetta could have been anywhere in the world tonight, but was right here on Bondi Beach, at a truly legendary new year’s eve show.

Earlier on in the night, Armand Van Helden showed us why he’s always at the top of the dance music game and youngsters The Aston Shuffle treated us to their first ever live show, whilst the honour of opening the night went to local heroes Flight Facilities, who are sure to maintain their steady ascent to stardom in 2011.

When the doors opened at 8:30pm, an already excited crowd walked, skipped and ran through the gates: the energy was high and atmosphere electric. The crowd went wild as the clock struck midnight with fireworks in the sky, the beach in the background and the sea breeze in their hair. It was an exhilarating end of a decade and the ideal beginning to another. At 3am as the party ended and the fans headed home, 2010 had ended with an outstanding event and quality line-up at one of the world’s most iconic locations. Shore Thing 2010 went off with a bang and is set to return in 2011 even bigger and better.
