Nominations for the fifth Annual JAGERMEISTER INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS (formally known as the Jagermeister AIR Awards) have officially been announced, and they include a stellar array of the country’s brightest emerging artists, while acknowledging an extraordinary year for Independent music.

Leading the pack with 3 Nominations a piece, Sia, Dan Sultan and Cloud Control will all vie for BEST INDEPENDENT ARTIST and BEST INDEPENDENT ALBUM – with Sia also nominated for BEST INDEPENDENT SINGLE OR EP, Dan Sultan for BEST INDEPENDENT BLUES AND ROOTS ALBUM, and Cloud Control for BREAKTHROUGH INDEPENDENT ARTIST.

Also receiving a nomination for the coveted BEST INDEPENDENT ALBUM award is Australian music Legend Rowland S Howard, who passed away last year and is recognized posthumously for his final recording “Pop Crimes” which was released only months before he died.

After a busy year on the charts and on the road, former Winners British India and Eddie Current Suppression Ring both received well earned nominations in the BEST INDEPENDENT ARTIST category, alongside first timers Bridezilla for their BREAKTHROUGH INDEPENDENT ARTIST nomination, and BEST INDEPENDENT SINGLE OR EP nods to Little Red for “Rock It” and The Temper Trap for “Love Lost”.
