Anyone who went to the first installment of Double Dragon, knows just how amazing a night it is. An incredible showcase of Sydney’s best talent (and a few out of town guests too…) – and all for just $5! Due to overwhelming demand, Double Dragon will be returning next month, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Here’s the press release:

Double Dragon returns on October 1 to showcase the best in Sydney’s underground music scene. Seventeen of our city’s most exciting bands and DJs will grace the stage of Oxford Art Factory for the second time in as many months to show that what is going on in Sydney right now creatively is as important as any place and time in history.

Headlining Double Dragon II is Bridezilla. The band who with debut album The First Dance solidified their place as one of the most brilliant, intelligent and sophisticated young bands in the cosmos today. With their out of this world indie folk flavours meandering around your aural galaxy like a beautiful siren whispering sweet nothings into your consciousness they will seduce you and then rob you of everything you have known before. A true gem.

The blissful Beach Boys-esque melodies of WIM will take you to heaven one beautifully crafted song after the next. The Neu meets Mudhoney brutality of Zeahorse will spike your drink and mail you to North Korea where you will be met by the bi-polar trip hop dictatorship of Arkestra. Dark Bells, Piano Is Drunk and Nhomea will simultaneously frighten you and massage you with their sonic assault while Sick Python, Disco Club and Old Men Of Moss Mountain will make you dance without you completely understanding why.

The passionate truth of Juan Cortez along with the cultish fever of Psychonanny and the Babyshakers and Whipped Cream Chargers will shower love upon the masses as if the heavens were being summoned open by the shuffling bombast of the aforementioned. Djs Max Gosford, Pages, Ombudsman and Lovelace will take you into the wee hours playing music so eclectic anyone who really needs to define it should probably just go to bed…

All of this for only $5 – tickets available at moshtix.com.au.
