Sydney's iconic Surry Hills Festival has just announced the first round of live musical acts, joining the local creatives, designers, businesses and installation artists on September 26th. With an impressive line-up featuring artists Leah Flanagan, Noire, The Stiffys, Sons Of East and The Pigs, this year has the best of Sydney's independent music scene on offer to the public.

Live Review: Semplesize Block Party Feat. Banoffee + Milwaukee Banks + Deja - Howler, Melbourne (07.12.14)

Arriving on typically grey but strangely muggy Melbourne Sunday afternoon, Howler in Brunswick became the ideal venue for the annual Semplesize Block Party. Tucked in behind the beer garden at the entrance, the Howler band room transformed into a veritable playground of raw, local talent that seemed to catered to every music lover’s taste.

'Pigsty in July' announces its lineup!

The PigSty In July festival has announced the list of ten exciting artists that will perform at the festival on July 5th. The boutique festival which is the sister of Gum Ball Music Festival, features a '2nd Hand Formal' dress code and is returning to the Hunter Valley's Dashville site for a second year in a row. With only capacity for 500 people, the festival is sure to be an intimate affair with exposure to some of Australia's exciting up and coming bands.

The Stiffys are back on tour this May!

The Stiffys are hitting the road once again before they buckle down to work on their third EP. The boys will head to Sutherland on May 8th and finish the tour in Melbourne on June 6th. The Beards will be supporting the boys during their Sutherland, Penrith and Parramatta shows.

The Stiffys set for the "Groovy Boys" tour and release new single in "Boogie Boarding"!

Melbourne's own The Stiffys will be out on the road, performing down the east coast to celebrate the release of their second EP, We Are Groovy Boys! They'll be showcasing the EP, especially new single "Boogie Boarding" to crowds down the right side of Australia and entertaining the crowds in their own renowned way. The new record shows a different facet of the band's technique as musicians and writers; recording in Melbourne at Sing Sing, The Stiffy's explored and expanded on thematic content.

The Stiffys are embarking on their first national headline tour in August 2013 to coincide with the release of Champagne [HINT: it’s about their favourite thing – Champagne] for their second EP, due out 2014.

The Stiffys love champagne. They love it so much that they've released a song called "Champagne" about their love of champagne, as well as announced an upcoming tour called "The Champagne Tour".

The Snowdroppers set for "Moving Out of Eden" national tour.

It's been three years since The Snowdroppers released their debut album, Too Late to Pray. 2013 marks the arrival of a fitting follow up release in Moving Out of Eden, set to hit the hands of the band's hungry fan base on March 22nd. To celebrate the album's release, The Snowdroppers will be taking the record out on the road for a bit of a national tour, with Little Bastard coming along for the ride.
