The Lockhearts, The Stiffys, Borneo & more to play Old Mate’s Block Party in Sydney

The timing is kinda blissful for this one – with the resignation Casino Mike Baird being made public today, we’re even more stoked to share the details of the second Old Mate’s Block Party, headed for the Factory in Marrickville on January 28th!

Inspired by a drive to bring more music fans out and experience more bands and their music in the face of all those ‘our scene is dying’ naysayers, Sydney band The Lockhearts are coming together with a line up of killer local and Melbourne groups to throw their second event. 2016’s event completely sold out, a promising sign moving forward; says Lockhearts bassist Jameel Majam, his goal of getting out there more and discovering new bands all in his own backyard of Sydney really opened his eyes to the wide pool of talent out there.

“There were no genre limitations; I just wanted to see new bands. I found myself seeing a lot of what I now call my favourite bands! All in my own backyard!”

Appearing at the 2017 Old Mate’s Block Party alongside The Lockhearts are the following artists – you know you want in on this one…

2017 OLD MATE’S BLOCK PARTY

THE LOCKHEARTS
THE STIFFYS
BORNEO
THE PERSIAN DRUGS
PRIVATE FUNCTION
TWIN FIRES

plus more…

Tickets for the block party are on sale now, but don’t hang around long for these ones; there’s a high chance the event is going to follow in the same vein as last year’s. Head on over to the Factory’s website here to grab yours.
