

There are a heap of one off gig announcements happening all around the country this week, with the likes of Das Racist, Shadowqueen, Iowa, Kitchen's Floor, Jonti, Gold Fields and much more all hitting the stages in various bars and venues. There is also the return of the highly popular Women of Soul nights happening at the Cherry Bar!

Filmed at Peats Ridge Festival and at Festival of the Sun, we find out the New Years Resolutions of bands from around Australia for 2012. Including The Brothers Grim, The Medics, Pigeon, The Holidays, The Delta Riggs, Microwave Jenny, The Snowdroppers, Benjalu, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Minnie Marks, Thundamentals, Sietta and Richard Cuthbert.

Fresh from playing a captivating set of luscious indie pop at Peats Ridge Festival, Simon and Will from The Holidays chat to Lucy Inglis of The AU Review about the magic of Peats Ridge, their upcoming album, possible tours and the thrills of being a part of Harvest.


It may not have been one of my international excursions. It may not have even lasted 24 hours. But my trip to the Brisbane leg of the Harvest "gatherings" turned out to be one of my most memorable musical expeditions to date.



The 2011 Jagermeister Independent Music Awards was hosted in Melbourne this week at the Revolt warehouse in Kensington. The building was originally built in the 1800s and has kept its industrial interior design. Strung from the ceiling were hundreds of exposed light bulbs which made for a homely, fairylit backyard party on Wednesday night. Dylan Lewis - who hosted the awards - described the building as something you would usually find hidden in Berlin.



Having toured together for the annual Laneway Festival earlier this year and currently playing together again at Groovin' The Moo, Cut Copy and The Holidays team up for a national tour during their time away from the festival circuit.
