
Despite the crappy weather of yesterday’s ‘Shtraya’ Day that affected all those wishing to indulge in some good ol’ Aussie shindigs at the beach or chuck back some coldies at a music festival (at least in Sydney), Triple J’s hottest 100 countdown became the rock of our iconic day. Parties were held in commemoration of its greatness and all Shtrayans worth their salt paused as the the number one track of the year was announced... which was no bloody surprise.

"Holy shit" seems to be among the most commonly used words on the internet this morning with the announcement of the Coachella 2012 lineup.

El Camino sees The Black Keys culminate their trademark blues-rock sound with the smooth production of 2008’s Attack and Release and the vintage soul of 2010’s Brothers, the album that elevated them to stadium status.
The Big Day Out is disappointed to announce that The Black Keys will be unable to perform on any of the 2011 Big Day Out events in Australia or New Zealand due to exhaustion.

When we started this list, we mentioned that there were a few surprises along the way - this is no doubt thanks to the fact that we're counting down tracks, not singles, that were released in 2010 in any form.
What surprised even us, however, that the number one spot would not go to a single, but rather a favourite track off an album that came in at number one on our recent "Albums of 2010" countdown. But before we get there, let's start in with number 10 ...

As we've been going through the top 40 tracks and albums of the year, I thought we should take some time out to recognise some of the best music videos of 2010.
