Garrett Kato tours to support new album and announces tour dates with Pete Murray

Byron Bay’s Garrett Kato is currently touring to support his new album, That Low and Lonesome Sound. You can catch the Canadian-born artist at one of the two remaining album launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne this week.

 Kato is then set to open for Pete Murray on a 27-date regional tour through October, November and December. Click through for more info.

A huge benefit to raise funds and awareness for the important anti-fracking cause was held in Sydney, with the likes of Pete Murray, Nahko and more coming together for the brilliant 'Rock the Gate' event. Gwendolyn Lee was there for the AU and brings us these photos!

'Rock the Gate' - why one music concert is taking over Enmore Road this November.

This November, a stellar group of musicians are coming together in Sydney for what looks set to be a great day and night of live music. 'Rock the Gate', featuring the likes of Pete Murray and The Herd, will be taking over the Enmore Theatre on the 23rd, but the music is set to continue outside and down Enmore Road, with the busy cafe and business strip coming to the table and taking part in what's going to be a huge street party. This all sounds good, but why? Well, 'Rock the Gate' isn't just about providing Sydneysiders some good times on a Sunday, it's also about shedding light on and raising awareness about a serious issue many Australians now face, but may know little about.

To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of his album Feeler, Pete Murray has announced the re-release of Feeler featuring the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and an Australian tour throughout Jan-April 2014.

Pete Murray is quintessentially Australian. Having spent the past years nestled in Byron Bay, he has been living a life enviable by many. However, it’s not all rays of sunshine and waves, Pete has been hard at work on his latest album Blue Sky Blue and the remade Byron Sessions, and is currently on a huge Australian tour that sees itself to a serious amount of shows across the land. Elke had the chance to talk to Pete about his recent collaborations and the albums' success.

Pete Murray to embark on "The Byron Sessions" tour in 2013!

Pete Murray has revisited his 2011 album, Blue Sky Blue as part of his latest project “The Byron Sessions.” The Byron Sessions features songs from Blue Sky Blue with the help of his fellow musically inclined friends who have generously lent their talents to his songs. Ash Grunwald, Scott Owen, Katie Noonan, Natalie Pa’apa’a, Bernard Fanning, Busby Marou and Darren Middleton all play a part in The Byron Sessions.
