Live Review: Passenger + The Once - Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre (20.01.15)

A sheet of cross-legged fans formed the floor of the theatre, hungrily awaiting a sign of life. Rosy-cheeked children munched on iceblocks while grey-haired couples chattered close by; an unspoken harmony connected the audience and made Passenger’s warmhearted energy evident long before he hit the stage.

Passenger

Passenger played to a lively and enthusiastic crowd at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night. Kerrie Geier was there for the AU review.

Live Review: Passenger - Palais Theatre, Melbourne (17.01.15)

Over the weekend, Passenger was back in town and played a wonderful and comical show at Melbourne's Palais Theatre. The english singer-songwriter not only demonstrated that he oozes musical talent, but that he also knows how to charm an audience and have us spilling over in hysterics. You would be forgiven for thinking you had walked into a musical comedy show.

This one's going to be slightly different to Passenger's previous shows which established him as a megastar the world over, as he comes back to Australia and New Zealand in January taking to arenas across the country.

Festival Review: Byron Bluesfest (Day Four) - Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm (20.04.14)

A slow start for many today, the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm seemed to be easing in to Sunday at Bluesfest - snoozily/slowly working through hangovers from Saturday night, it was an easy guess that there may not be as many in attendance today as there had been over the past few days. It was of no matter to me however, as I scored myself a spot on the lawn at Crossroads for C.W Stoneking to kick off my music schedule for the day.

UK troubadour Passenger packed out the main Mojo tent during Bluesfest yesterday and Johnny Au was there. He brings you these photos from the anticipated performance.

Guest appearances, birthday celebrations and Erykah Badu come to Byron for Bluesfest Day Four!

With the final day and night of the Byron Bluesfest around the corner, the Sunday program continue to bring the goods. Bluesfest’s 25th anniversary was celebrated with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ sung to Peter Noble by the public and Playing For Change, who had previously wound up their Mojo Stage set.

Festival Review: Byron Bluesfest (Day Three) - Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm (19.04.14)

Day Three. The halfway point. A chicken wrap and a chorizo stick down and I’m ready to go again, dropping by the Crossroads stage, where Lime Cordiale are already in the midst of their Saturday Bluesfest set. The Sydneysiders, who I’d last seen play in Austin, have only gotten better over the last few years and seeing them on a stage this big was a great way to open the day.

Byron Bluesfest brings the big guns in Jeff Beck and the Dave Matthews Band for third day of music!

The surprises kept on coming for the 25th anniversary of the annual Byron Bluesfest tonight, with guest appearances, surprise busking sets and more carrying on throughout the day.

Album News Weekly: 1 April 2014

Also a few new bands coming through, Byron band In Hearts Wake have something new coming out, The Murlocs are releasing a record, and Passenger is as well. Overseas, 50 Cent is still plugging away, releasing a new record in June. There's a heap of cool stuff in here, so have a read and give your ears a treat.
