Melbourne-based Brooke Addamo began to release music under the Owl Eyes moniker back in 2010. After three EPs over the last few years, this month sees the hotly anticipated release of her debut LP, Nightswim, which is dripping with 80’s and 90’s nostalgia.

We sit down with Brooke Addamo aka Owl Eyes to talk about her debut album Nightswim, which will be released April 19th, playing the Melbourne Zoo, her current live show and much more...

After much refinement, Australian singer Brooke Addamo – better known as Owl Eyes (pictured) - is finally ready to release her heavily anticipated debut LP Nightswim. We were on hand at her very special, very intimate album launch party on the gorgeous pool deck of Hyde Park’s Pullman hotel. Various media and guests were treated to a four-song performance, including Owl Eyes’ new single ‘Closure,’ to show us her impressive vocals and undeniable live presence; successfully waving the flag high for Nightswim. Check out our photos of the event below.

It’s all happening at The Gov in this week’s announcements, with The Drones, The Superjesus, Kaki King, San Cisco, The Reverend Horton Heat and Soilwork all announcing shows there. While Cable Beach Amphitheatre gets the chills from Icehouse and the Rosemount Hotel gets a visit from some reformed 80s icons.

The sassy songstress known as Owl Eyes has just delivered a new single in the form of "Closure", taken from her debut album Nightswim, which will be in stores and online April 19th.

Celebrating the release of her EP Nightswim, Owl Eyes will be touring across Australia in coming months. Supported by Collarbones and Mammals, Owl Eyes will be embarking on her first national tour since May 2012. Considering Owl Eyes has been known to sell out tour dates quickly in the past, the 'Nightswim Tour' will no doubt follow suit as it's not only the first time in ages fans will be able to see her perform, but it'll be the first time in ages she's got new material to show off.

This week’s album news brings the return of Empire Of The Sun, a taste of City & Colour’s album in the making, debuts from Jinja Safari and Owl Eyes, plus a whole heap more of announcements!
