Festival Review: Lollapalooza Berlin - Tempelhof Airport, Germany (12.09.15 & 13.09.15)

Photo: Stephan Flad.

Lollapalooza branched out into Europe for the first time over the weekend, taking Berlin's Tempelhof Airport by storm. The sold out event drew huge numbers of music fans down to the defunct airport (one of the coolest festival venues I've been too, I'll add) for some brilliant sets by artists who've been away for a little while, some of the biggest names touring at the moment and some recent festival favourites. Having attended Lollapalooza in Chicago last year, I felt like I was going into this one at least a little prepared, but Berlin's festival game was another beast in itself.

The Festival Diaries: Day Three at New Orleans Jazz Fest ft. Eagles + My Morning Jacket and more (05.05.12)

By the time I hit day three, one thing had become perfectly clear: people who loved New Orleans Jazz Festival LOVED New Orleans Jazz Festival. Pretty much everyone we had met over the last few days has had a million stories to tell, with their visits to the festival well into the double digits. Not only am I starting to feel like I'm this only one popping their proverbial cherry here but by now also just as clear why people cheep coming back for more.

the AU interview at Bluesfest: Dawes (LA)

Larry Heath sits down to chat with LA folk-rock band Dawes at Byron Bay Bluesfest.

My Morning Jacket, Lucinda Williams and Cold Chisel kick off a massive Bluesfest Byron Bay 2012.

With the sun shining and the crowd numbers strong (though a decline from the heavyweights that comprised the 2011 lineup, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Grace Jones et al), Bluesfest reminded the crowd what it's all about: the music, the good vibes and the experience.

the AU interview: Patrick Hallahan of My Morning Jacket (Kentucky)

We caught up with the drummer of My Morning Jacket to talk to them about touring, recording, the muppets and much more!

My Morning Jacket announce Australian Tour 2012

Want to experience a concert where Southern rock and psychedelic surrealism happily co-exist? My Morning Jacket will hit Australia next April for two very special shows in Sydney and Melbourne and will be playing at Byron Bay and Perth Blues festivals.

A Sydneysider's Take on Melbourne's Big Day Out 2009

Having attended the Sydney Big Day Out for the past 5 years, it would
be fair to say that being sick of the crowd that attends this event is
an understatement. So, loving Melbourne, I decided to make the trip
down south for this year's epic BDO event - and boy, did it pay off. I
guess I better just say it now: Melbourne Big Day Out shits ALL over
the Sydney event.

Big Day Out 09 - Flemington Racecourse (26.01.09)

When the first couple of announcements were made for the Big Day Out, I, like many others were somewhat underwhelmed, but leading up to the day I grew increasingly excited! The weather was good, the people were awesome and the bands killed it!
