Meg Mac (Melbourne) on touring with D’Angelo, breaking out as a headliner in Australia & more!

She’s been dominating stages both in Australia and recently, internationally, so to be able to snag a slice of Meg Mac‘s time recently was exciting for us. Before her set at Mt. Duneed Estate for the Falls Festival, Meg sat down with us to chat about what has been such a huge year for the artist, channelling some wicked looks onstage and being able to take her music over to the United States with D’Angelo.

“Being in America,” she explains. “It was my first time doing support shows, so it was all new to me. I’d never done driving tours either, so all of it was a new experience for me. Then, getting to be a support act for D’Angelo was like a dream come true – it was really inspiring and I was just trying to soak it all up while I was there. I really like how he is so confident and he has lots of power; he could get the audience to do whatever he wanted and he could direct the band…he had heaps of stage presence and I found that really inspiring.”
