If it wasn't for the surprising amount of attention Big Day Out has received for not selling out as in previous years, you wouldn't have known that the Sydney Big Day Out wasn't a sell out. Lines were still long (but reasonable), stages were still packed, more people arrived before noon than we had seen in the past and the enthusiasm as high as ever. And by the time tens of thousands of people were chanting along to Kanye West, as he was suspended above the crowd, following Soundgarden bringing everyone to their feet for "Blackhole Sun", you realised there was very little different about this Big Day Out than in previous years.

Supafest has announced its first lineup for 2012!

It was humid. It was hot. It was overcast and looked like it was about to rain. But it did absolutely nothing to deter the punters as the Big Day Out rolled into Adelaide for another year.

Finding it a handy way to catch the vast majority of bands who took over Sydney Olympic Park for Big Day Out in 2010, I once again decided to venture out to the festival grounds for the two consecutive days of the 2011 event. Having seen such a ridiculous amount of amazing music over this period I've decided to break this review down by the eight main stages. But before we get started, let's give a bit of an overview...
Atlantic Records are proud to announce the upcoming release of “LASERS,” the hugely anticipated new album from Lupe Fiasco. The Grammy Award-winning superstar’s third full-length collection will arrive in stores and at

Having attended the Sydney Big Day Out for the past 5 years, it would
be fair to say that being sick of the crowd that attends this event is
an understatement. So, loving Melbourne, I decided to make the trip
down south for this year's epic BDO event - and boy, did it pay off. I
guess I better just say it now: Melbourne Big Day Out shits ALL over
the Sydney event.
