LITTLE RED

Coaster Festival - Gosford Showgrounds (17.09.11)

Last weekend I was reunited with Gosford for the first time in several years. When we first met back in 2009, we didn’t get along so well. A guy jumped the train tracks and fence in an attempt to steal my friend’s Subway, boys who looked about 12 made crude comments, and a hobo stood two metres away screaming at seemingly nothing. This time was different however, as I kicked back for the weekend and soaked up the highly intense sun at Coaster Festival.

the AU interview: Quang Dinh of Little Red (Melbourne)

Ahead of their special performance at Gosford's Coaster Festival (taking place this Saturday), Larry Heath caught up with Quang Dinh of Melbourne Little Red to talk about the show, and find out what's been going on with the band...

Quang: G’day Larry How are you going?

I’m going well thanks, mate. How are you?

Very well thank you.

That’s good. What are we finding you up to on a Tuesday afternoon?

Little Red + Worlds End Press - Metro Theatre (10.06.11)

Back in 2008 when Little Red’s incredible debut album Listen to Little Red hit shelves I would not stop raving about them to my friends until I built up a little group to go see their few gigs at Manning Bar amongst other venues. One of my friends developed a little crush on drummer Taka Honda and ended up dragging us to the Hunter Valley to check them out at a small festival they were headlining.

SXSW 2011: Part Eight - The Aussie BBQ Day Party (19.03.11)

The Aussie BBQ has become an institution of the annual SXSW calendar.

Organised by Stage Mothers, the event is now put on in four North American cities around the time of SXSW: Toronto (during CMW), New York City, Los Angeles and of course, here in Austin. The event showcases the best in Australian music – some who haven’t performed back in Australia for quite a while, now basing themselves in the US, and the rest in the midst of SXSW-timed North American tours.

The Aussie BBQ showcase made its way to the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. A full crowd mostly made up of expats sampled great music from home and meat pies that made everyone just a little homesick.
