Live Review: Leonard Cohen - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne (20.11.13)

Perhaps the most striking fact about this concert is that the audience consists of new and old fans aged in their teens to their seventies and beyond, respectively. It’s not surprising because Canadian singer, songwriter and poet, Leonard Cohen has been entertaining audiences in a career spanning over four decades. Seventy-nine year old Cohen put on a marathon show that lasted three hours, consisting of two sets, and three encores putting his younger contemporaries to shame with his stamina.

Watching the much loved singer-songwriter, poet and novelist Leonard Cohen performing at the Entertainment Centre, it was hard to believe that he is seventy nine years old. Delivering songs both old and new with immense charm and panache as he prowled about the stage, Leonard's voice may have become far deeper than it was back in the sixties, but his passion remains strong.
