With their 2012 break-out debut World Music and their 2014 album Commune, Sweden's Goat have made plenty of fans around the world, and now they're finally coming to Australia. The band deliver a heavy dose of acidic grooves, hypnotic incantations, serpentine guitar lines, Nigerian afrobeat and Anatolian funk. They’ve taken their electrifying show around the USA and Europe and now the guys will embark on their debut tour of Australia with our own garage psych lords King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, alongside their already announced appearance at Meredith Festival!

Although I only attended one day, I couldn't help but get swept up in the vibe...

Album Review: King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard – Quarters (LP 2015)

The new album by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is much less aggressive than their last conceptual album I’m in your Mind Fuzz. This sixth installment in the list of studio albums by these Melbournites is infinitely more chill. There’s a retrospective sense in the lo-fi style quality of this album entitled Quarters. Stu McKenzie’s lyrics seem to come through almost muffled over the lazy waves of twanging guitars.

Chet Faker, King Gizzard & Flume join the likes of Frank Ocean, Bloc Party & Morrissey at LA's FYF Fest in August!

Held over the weekend of August 22/23, the festival brings together a diverse range of artists including huge names like Frank Ocean, Morrissey, The Jesus and Mary Chain, D'Angelo and more. Australians Chet Faker, Flume and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are also in the mix, making this a festival we're - yet again - jealous to not be attending. If, however, you happen to be in LA this August, below is all the info you're going to need.
