A strong crowd of music lovers and members of the NT music industry gathered at the Ampitheatre in the George Brown Botanic Gardens in Darwin last night for the 2015 National Indigenous Music Awards - an event that saw some incredible live performances and artists take away a range of awards recognising musical achievements, commendations and excellence in not only surging forward in the wider Australian and international industries, but also in keeping culture and traditional language alive.

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Party just keeps growing, with today revealing its first five headline performers for the annual event! Leading the charge is Nick Jonas, who is now well and truly making an impact on the US music scene as a solo artist, with his hit single "Jealous" becoming a #1 radio hit. Winners and more nominees for the 2014 ARIA Awards were announced at the official event in Sydney this morning, with some of Australia's best performers and their teams recognised for their work over the past year. The winners of the Fine Arts and Artisan Awards were announced at the event, with the slew of nominees for the November ARIAs unveiled. the AU congratulates all involved - there have been some truly stellar records produced over the past year, as well as the development of some great live bands who are getting just recognition!

The National Indigenous Music Awards were held in Darwin over the weekend, with many turning out to celebrate the diversity and talent within the Indigenous Australian music industry. For the second year, Jessica Mauboy took out the National Artist of the Year Award, while Dan Sultan dominated the night in more ways than one, with a powerhouse headline performance and winning the National Album, Song and Cover Art of the Year Awards.
