Hands up if you already thought High Tension's frontwoman Karina Utomo was one of the most badass women in Australian music at the moment. A lot of you? Good taste. If you're yet to become acquainted with the Melbourne four piece, you definitely should - their new album Bully is dropping this Friday and today they've released a brilliant film clip for the album's title track, "Bully".

BIGSOUND has named the first 50 artists for the 2015 live program and for another year, Brisbane looks to become a buzzing hive of excellent live music in September! BIGSOUND Live sees 14 music venues through the Valley taken over by some impressive line ups of bands from around Australia and abroad over two nights for what has become Australia's biggest gathering of industry and music fans. Last year's BIGSOUND program was hectic, showcasing some diverse and brilliant talent - both emerging and established - and this year is going to be no different.

Winners and more nominees for the 2014 ARIA Awards were announced at the official event in Sydney this morning, with some of Australia's best performers and their teams recognised for their work over the past year. The winners of the Fine Arts and Artisan Awards were announced at the event, with the slew of nominees for the November ARIAs unveiled. the AU congratulates all involved - there have been some truly stellar records produced over the past year, as well as the development of some great live bands who are getting just recognition!

Undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest, events of my SXSW calendar had to be the Aussie BBQ. Taking over Maggie Mae's on Saturday, a staggering amount of Australian artists were divided up over three stages inside the venue, set to fly the flag and let the Americans know how good Australia is having it right now as a music and creative industry.
