This weeks Album News is massive. There’s a huge bunch of debut LP’s from right around the world, there’s others close to home, there’s EPs too and basically every genre is covered. If you’re lacking new music lately, don’t fret, there’s definitely at least once announcement in here that’ll tickle your fancy.

This year’s Pyramid Rock Festival on Phillip Island in Victoria will be remembered by me not only as a paddock full of beer cans and flocks of seagulls. It will instead be remembered as the New Years Eve that someone threw a basketball at Dominic Simper of Tame Impala’s face. But let’s go back to the beginning, a time of sobriety and a lot less violence.

The Artery Foundation have just announced the Movember Mayhem Tour which will feature Dream On Dreamer, Make Them Suffer, In Fear and Faith and Saviour.

Brisbane's Awaken I Am will be bringing their massive live sounds to stages near you through this month and September after scoring some awesome gig opportunities! Following a few weeks' break, the band have managed to get themselves on the list of fantastic performers scheduled to perform on the BigSound Live showcase in September.

Turning nine years old this year, the Pyramid Rock Festival is once again bringing a killer line up of bands and DJs to Philip Island to help you ring in the New Year! With a line up dominated by Australian talent, which is always great to see, Pyramid Rock is going to be a dream festival this year, with so many different sounds being set against the awesome back drop of the ocean.
The line up is as follows!
360
All The Colours
Anti-Flag
Blood Red Shoes

GOLD FIELDS ANNOUNCED AS METRIC'S SUPPORT ACT!

With a behemoth international bill of punk and metal as terrifyingly huge as the Soundwave cast, the way is ne're paved with finest gold -- enter The Smoking Hearts, the motley crew all the way from London-Town. Play hard, party harder, that sort of thing. "Pick up your feet, you fuckers!". Next time perhaps? A scathing diatribe from Every Time I Die's Keith Buckley would be most fitting here.

The best laid plans of mice, men, and now apparently music reviewers often go awry. Although I had planned to catch Pennsylvanian rockers CKY and French metal act Gojira, traffic snarls and the sheer crowd size of Soundwave 2012 prevent me from doing so. Well, I end up catching about ten seconds of Gojira after a short sprint; I won’t lie, it was a pretty fantastic ten seconds.

Underoath and Dream on Dreamer have announced their much-anticipated Sidewave shows. Underoath will be touring off the back of their latest release Ø and as we know they have a reputation for adrenaline charged live performances. Dream on Dreamer was one of Australia’s biggest success stories in 2011 signing to Rise Records and released their stellar debut album Heartbound. Tickets go on sale 2nd Feb.

For the first time in a long time, I've arrived at Sydney Entertainment Centre for a gig, with the feeling that this was one not to miss. There were plenty of kids roaming around in their newly purchased AX7 merchandise as I made my way inside the venue to secure my seat for Dream On Dreamer's set. This Melbourne based band had the huge opportunity presented to them, as original support Sevendust pulled out of the tour only weeks beforehand.

On the eve of the debut album release, and just after they finished up touring with Avenged Sevenfold, Larry Heath caught up with Michael McLeod of Melbourne's Dream On Dreamer. Here's what went down...
Hey there Michael, how are you going there mate?
Good, man. Yourself?
Yeah, very well. Sounds like you’ve got a bit of a busy day there.
Oh dude, we just got back from an overnight drive from Adelaide, so I’m pretty haggard.
