Festival Review: Groovin’ The Moo - Prince of Wales Showground, Bendigo (03.05.14)

The cruel upbeat tone of my alarm sounded at 6:00AM on Saturday morning. As I momentarily considered face planting into the pillow and ignoring its sole purpose, I realised it was time to get Groovin'. The train ride in was long and tumultuous; aisles laden with inappropriately dressed festival-goers and a lone local tennis player, seemingly unimpressed by the inane amount of extra bodies that occupied her usually quiet Saturday morning train. Upon arrival the sun was shining, but our future looked bleak. Dark clouds were rolling in. We were surrounded. Luckily enough, the Groovin' gods smiled upon us, keeping us dry (for the most part).

Album Review: Dizzee Rascal - The Fifth (2013 LP)

Dizzee Rascal The Fifth

It’s a little hard to believe it’s been ten years since Dizzee Rascal released Mercury Prize winning Boy in Da Corner with its minimal beats and Rascal’s iconic voice. Now, a purveyor of anthems to nightclubs around the globe, you couldn’t expect much less from his aptly titled fifth album.

Festival Review: Future Music Festival - Bonython Park, Adelaide (11.03.13)

This year’s Future Music Festival proved one thing to me and that is that I can’t tolerate these type of festivals anymore. I didn’t even make it through the gates at Bonython Park without being accosted by some steroid-loving dickheads who had dropped a number of pills because they were so ‘mad keen for Avicii bruv’ – a somewhat perfect omen for the rest of the day and night to follow.
