Premiering earlier this week on triple j, some of our favourite Sydney/Blue Mountains kids are finally back with new material after relocating to London. "Dojo Rising" is the first taste of the forthcoming Cloud Control record, Dream Cave, which is due out on August 9th, the follow up to their AMP winning debut Bliss Release. If this track is any indication, this is without a doubt a record we should all be looking forward to.

This week’s album news features a diverse range of announcements. From longstanding acts such as Barenaked Ladies and Sheryl Crowe, to the newer Dan Parsons and Warbrain. Cloud Control aren't the band you'd expect to be super secretive about a new song, let alone an upcoming record, but when it comes to their anticipated sophomore LP - the follow up to the AMP Award winning Bliss Release - mum is definitely the word from both band and management. Which makes it especially difficult to conduct an interview about the album, which they'll be premiering at VIVID Festival later this year.

A huge amount of world class talent has today been announced to be gracing the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE 2013. The 5th annual Vivid Sydney festival of 'light, music and ideas' will be taking place from May 24 until June 2, with the Opera House becoming the host to some stellar local and international talent.

Every now and then a show comes along where being a fan makes it rather difficult to write a review that isn't full of hyperbole and inexplicable excitement. For me, Weezer was one of those shows. But don't let my status as a "fan" belittle any praise bestowed upon this gig. I've seen Weezer before, and they weren't this good. I've been to many shows as a big fan before, and rarely do they deserve such praise - after all, the bigger a fan you are, the easier it is to be let down. This was one night where it was good to be a fan, one night where no one left disappointed. And, irrespective of hyperbole, how often can one say that about any show, period? But before we get there, let's take a look at the supports...
