Live Review: City Calm Down + Foreign/National + The Rememberz + Blush Response - Rocket Bar, Adelaide (09.10.15)

City Calm Down have maintained somewhat of an air of mystery around them in recent years. Having spent quite a bit of time away working solidly on their debut album, In a Restless House, the Melbourne band have still managed to cultivate and maintain a strong fan base within the local scene and following on from an impressive few live shows in Sydney and Melbourne recently, not to mention a well-received BIGSOUND run, it's finally time for City Calm Down to step out from behind the curtain and into the spotlight - the fans and the stages are ready.

Hot Chip, Dirty Three, Courtney Barnett & more announced for Sugar Mountain 2016!

Before the weekend, Le1f was the first name leaked/revealed for Melbourne's Sugar Mountain festival, quickly indicating that the organisers had another vibrant and eclectic line up in store. This morning, they've gone and announced the full line up of artists, musicians and individuals set to take part in the event next January at the VCA and Melbourne Arts Precinct!

Single of the Day: City Calm Down “Son” (2015)

City Calm Down have a sound that sets them apart from the rest. Their new song “Son” blend their signature sound of lush ambience into a standard rock lineup, jumping from indie rock sounds to electronica flawlessly. Jack and Jeremy from City Calm Down caught up with the AU's editor-in-chief Larry at BIGSOUND recently. The alternative pop group have immediate plans for touring through October in advance of the release of their new album In A Restless House.

Angus & Julia Stone, Jon Hopkins, Four Tet and more named on this year's Lost Paradise line up!

This year's Lost Paradise festival is set to be fantastic, with the official first artist announcement being revealed. The three day camping festival is going to be held in the Glenworth Valley over New Year's, offering festival goers a special experience of live music, arts, some brilliant food and drink options and more to bring in 2016 in unique style. Confirmed to perform and DJ at Lost Paradise this year are acts including Angus & Julia Stone, Jamie xx, Four Tet, Tkay Maidza, Jon Hopkins and more - the full line up can be viewed below!

City Calm Down announce Australian headline tour for October!

City Calm Down have finally announced a headline tour ahead of the release of the long-anticipated In a Restless House album and we're beyond excited for this one. Their recent Melbourne shows unsurprisingly brought out huge numbers and it wasn't long before the band expanded their tour commitments - confirming today that they will be heading down around the country with their new single "Wandering" in October.

BIGSOUND has named the first 50 artists for the 2015 live program and for another year, Brisbane looks to become a buzzing hive of excellent live music in September! BIGSOUND Live sees 14 music venues through the Valley taken over by some impressive line ups of bands from around Australia and abroad over two nights for what has become Australia's biggest gathering of industry and music fans. Last year's BIGSOUND program was hectic, showcasing some diverse and brilliant talent - both emerging and established - and this year is going to be no different.

Happy, happy days for fans who've been following the Melbourne band as they've been establishing themselves since 2012 as one of the most exciting new acts to tour around the traps. The last three years of work City Calm Down have been pouring into their now highly-anticipated debut effort looks to have culminated in a record that is going to be worth the wait, especially if new single "Rabbit Run" is any type of indicator.

Just when you thought NYE on the Hill couldn't get any more rad, it goes and does just that! The festival which is already set to host the likes of Jackie Onassis, The Bennies, City Calm Down and more fantastic Australian bands, has announced another slew of amazing artists confirmed to head to 'The Farm', just outside Loch Village in Victoria this NYE.

Live Review: Bombay Bicycle Club + City Calm Down + East - Metro Theatre Sydney (28.09.14)

Bombay Bicycle Club have made their last mark on Australia's shores. Though East were a good start and City Calm Down was a lot of fun, the crowd simply couldn't stand still while they waited for the headliner. City Calm Down is a Melbourne outfit and they were the perfect setting for the show. Fun, creative and a little bit retro - it was a good vibe to set the tone.

Never ones to rush their craft, the four friends have been tinkering and toiling over a considerable amount of demos in the search for the perfect collection of songs. As they carry on this process, in the meantime they have presented a new offering in the form of a single track titled "Pavement".

The Mushroom Group presents a killer lineup of entertainment for the 2014 Australian Open

The Mushroom Group is going to be bringing some stellar entertainment to tennis fans next year, as they curate the lineup for the Australian Open next January. Taking place on the Grand Slam Oval in Melbourne, the artists set to perform represent some Australian legends as well as some of our best young acts on the circuit today. International guest Pete Tong will be over for the event as well, representing for BBC's Radio 1.
