Nominees for the 2015 AIR Award for Best Independent Label announced!

We're two weeks out from the 2015 Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards and with the performers and first round nominees already announced, the good folk at AIR have today announced the latest nominees to the pool of great talent already up for awards. The nominees for Best Independent Music Label have been rolled out this morning, including Elefant Traks, Milk! Records, Liberation Music, Future Classic and Ivy League Records. The category, introduced in 2012, saw I OH YOU win at last year's ceremony, held at North Melbourne's Meat Market venue in October.

From Ngaiire to SAFIA, dozens of Australian artists on the first line-up for CMJ Music Marathon 2015 in New York City

CMJ Music Marathon, New York’s annual music showcase, has announced its initial line-up for 2015, with a range of performances featuring some 300 artists from Australia and the around the world. Australian acts featured include British India, singer-songwriter HOWQUA, Sydney’s NGAIIRE, SAFIA, METHYL ETHEL, The Bennies and more. Taking place in October, the 2015 installment of the CMJ Music Marathon marks the event's 35th year and will also see the likes of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Mercury Rev, Tobias Jesso Jr., Kamasi Washington, Glass Animals, Panda Bear, BØRNS and Perfect Pussy performing.

Illy, Thundamentals, Jebediah and more to feature at 2015's Festival of the Sun festival this December!

Festival of the Sun celebrates its 11th year this year, taking over the Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park in Port Macquarie on December 11th & 12th. Leading the artist announcement today are some of the country's favourites, Illy, Thundamentals and Jebediah, while the crew behind FOTSUN have also announced the inaugural Wabi Sabi night to proceedings this year.

British India announce final Australian tour for the year ahead of upcoming US shows!

Nothing Touches Me has definitely had somewhat of a golden touch for British India - the Melbourne boys riding high of the release of their fifth studio release so far this year. Before 2015 is out, they'll be touring the US alongside mega-group Imagine Dragons, but not before taking one last run around the Australian cities this September through into December!

Aussie indie band British India are releasing their brand new record Nothing Touches Me on Friday, March 13. The fifth studio album will feature recent single “Wrong Direction” and their new track, "Suddenly". In support of the release, the band have just announced an eighteen date Australian tour, spanning from Darwin to Hobart.

Cloud Control confirmed for the 2015 Urban Country Music Festival!

Proving that they are capable of catering to a variety of music fan, the organisers behind the 2015 Urban Country Music Festival today confirm Australian indie favourites Cloud Control as part of their line up this year! The band joins the likes of Lee Kernaghan, British India and Last Dinosaurs down in the Moreton Bay region for the May 1st-3rd festival on what's become quite a diverse festival bill.
